The new Exponent is a re-write of the core code that makes up the Exponent Content Management System. The code is currently unreleased, and is undergoing a heavy state of development by Online Innovative Creations (OIC Group).
The core concept behind Exponent's re-write is to create an underlying framework that makes it easy for developers to extend Exponent, allowing for rapid development of new modules, and minimizes the amount of code duplication that currently takes place in the 1.x codeline.
To pull this off, the new framework is based on the model-view-controller architectural pattern. All new module's base functionality extends from the same core code, equipping developers with a solid set of tools when beginning development.
ExponentFramework.org is a portal dedicated to the development of the Exponent 2.x codeline. All activites pertaining to development of the 2.x codeline can be found on this site.
